The Mood Therapist is deeply honoured to be invited to weave some cocktail magic at the Luang Prabang Film Festival in Laos from 5-9 December 2015. The main event is at the Icon Klub on 8 December and features a flight of five modernist cocktails including a new seasonal drink that has not been out carousing in public before, so come and check it out if you’re in town. Tickets are strictly limited and are available in advance directly from the Icon Klub for 500,000 Kip which includes the entire flight of five drinks.
For the brave of heart and weak of will there will be additional cocktails available by the glass.
Sadly, despite weeks of trying, the team and I have been unable to source liquid nitrogen in Luang Prabang but the cocktails will still cover a broad range of modernist techniques including pressure-infusion, centrifuge clarification, sous vide, the use of some cool hydrocolloids and carbonation. I might even throw in some acid manipulation!
Rumour even has has it that that the Cambodian Motion Picture Ambassador and musical impresario from KlapYaHandz, Sok Visal, will be throwing down some tunes during the night. Awesome.

They aren’t very hot on addresses in Laos and even Benedict Cumberbatch might have issues tracking down his hotel so here’s the best help I can give you short of leading you there by the hand (which I would also be willing to do, just give me a call).
The Icon Klub is located between Nam-Khan River and Luang Prabang’s main street – Sakkarine Rd. It is just up the hill from the Saynamkhan Hotel. Ban Xiengmouane, Luang Prabang, Laos.
